Some AU-y type thing scene ... yes.
Albus' brother, James, has a girlfriend.
Like - an actual girlfriend: not the bird-girl he doesn't like, and not Cora.
This, to him, is the strangest concept of all - that Cora isn't James' girlfriend.
They practically spend all of their time joined at the hip; at least that's how Albus sees it. Which is probably why it seems a little strange to him to find Cora in his bedroom when he steps in.
"... erm. Hi, Cora."
[note: James is 18, Albus and Cora are 17 - both in their last years of school. James works in his uncle's shop for now, which is how he came to meet Gwen Copplestone.]

Not that Albus minds so much, in the end. He's not as outwardly affectionate as his older brother might be (particularly with Cora), but he really does adore Cora.
His arms wrap around her too, to give her a quick hug - and to steady himself from falling over from sudden impact.
He laughs again.

A wide grin.
"All fawning and admiration. Girls throwin' favours and swoonin' and stuff."

It's all really rather impressive.
"Well - um. No." He shakes his head, smiling bashfully. "No, they don't. I don't know that I'd - um. Particularly deal well with the attention either."

It really is impressive, however. Like something painted in neon-markers.
"They should," she says like a secret, - grin widening, wolfish and elaborately faux-flirty. It slides across her face like a joke, laughter-soaked and overdone. "I mean, I would."

Not that they would.
School has always been something of a confusing atmosphere with the teasing and the ignoring and the also feeling like a second home.
It's ... complicated.

She smiles instead, tipping her head to rest neatly on his shoulder, "They'd be lucky t'have you around to call awesome, Albus. Don't know what they're missin' out on."

He is so not going to stop being red in the face for a while, is he?
